UHCL PD in the News
UHCL Chief Miller was recently interviewed by Fox 26 in Houston for a new safety initiative his department launched. The program called "SafeZone" supports staff and student safety and mental health wellbeing both on and off campus and allows UHCL PD to support the university's strategic goals around student recruiting, retention, and building a better overall student experience.
Additionally, Chief Miller said Safezone will allow him to better manage incidents by providing his entire team with a real-time view of what is happening, where the incident is and who is involved. Officers for the first time will be able to see all other responding personnel and available resources to improve field situational awareness, coordination, officer safety and response time.
