ATTENTION PUBLIC COLLEGES & UNVERSITIES

As you may know, Texas passed HB 4141 this past session, which required the Teachers Retirement System (TRS) to “study and report on alternative service retirement benefits for peace officers”. TACUPA is aware that TRS has reached out to human resource departments to collect certain information to assist TRS in complying with this law. You may want to reach out to your human resource department to make sure they received this request from TRS and have the required information to provide to them. One agency was given 02/16/2024 as the due date to report back to TRS.
