Ring

In the last month, we have had a few questions arise regarding Ring and their technology. I have a few questions-

1) We have seen a number of Ring cameras (and other similar technologies) pop up in our on campus apartments. Obviously there are some concerns regarding the campus IT network (among other things). Are any of you dealing with this? Do you have any input?

2) Ring has some commercial camera/security solutions that have been suggested to us for university use. I'm skeptical as to how (and if) it would work for us. Have any of you ventured into this? Know anything about it?
